Bernardus Official Venue

A world-class course, ready for a historic tournament

At Bernardus Golf, top-level golf and Brabant hospitality come together. The course is known for its excellent maintenance and strategic design, making it perfectly suited for golf at the highest level. Its calm and quiet location in the Brabant countryside provides an impressive backdrop for an international tournament. Therefore forms Bernardus during the Solheim Cup the ideal stage for this historic golf event.

Tournament history

Since its opening, Bernardus has rapidly established itself as a fixture on the international golf calendar. Between 2021 and 2023, the course hosted the KLM Open, part of the DP World Tour, where the world’s best players competed in Cromvoirt. These successful editions confirmed the quality and suitability of the course for tournaments. With the arrival of the Solheim Cup in 2026, Bernardus takes the next step and strengthens its position as an international stage for golf at the highest level.

Sustainability

Sustainability is an essential part of Bernardus Golf and forms the basis for both the design and maintenance of the course. From the very beginning, an approach was chosen that is in harmony with nature, with a focus on biodiversity, smart water management, and minimizing the use of chemicals. In this way, Bernardus demonstrates that top-level golf and responsibility of the environment go hand in hand.

Matchplay

The Solheim Cup is the biggest team tournament in women’s golf, in which Team Europe takes on Team United States. Both teams consist of 12 players, complemented by a captain and assistant captains, with some qualifying via rankings and others selected by the captain. The tournament lasts three days: on the first two days, foursomes and four-ball matches are played in pairs, followed by singles on the final day. Points can be earned per match, and the team that reaches 14.5 points first wins the Solheim Cup; in the event of a tie, the defending champion retains the trophy.

Captain Team Europe

Anna Nordqvist

“I am so honoured to be appointed as the 2026 European Solheim Cup Captain. Whether we were winning or losing, the Solheim Cup has played such a huge part in my career ever since I made my debut in 2009 in Chicago. The friendships I have made, and the memories created during the nine matches I’ve played, make it so incredibly special to be given the opportunity to be European Captain at my tenth Solheim Cup!”

Captain Team USA

Angela Stanford

“I’m extremely grateful to be named the next American captain for the Solheim Cup and join a list of my heroes in the game. There is no greater honor than representing your country. I consider this the pinnacle of my career, and I’m looking forward to leading our players to the Netherlands in 2026.”

The Netherlands and the Solheim Cup

Bernardus

Bernardus Golf is a modern championship course in the Netherlands and a leading venue for international golf events. The course is the first in the Netherlands to host both the Solheim Cup and the PING Junior Solheim Cup. And for the first time, both tournaments are played on the same course, underscoring Bernardus’s international status.
