The story of Bernardus Winery dates to the 1970s when Ben (Bernardus) Pon used to travel from his home in Holland to visit Carmel Valley and taste its wines. In 1989 he planted a vineyard and started his winery in Carmel Valley. Bernardus soon became well-known. Get the chance to visit the winery and taste our premium wines.

Bixby Bridge, also known as Bixby Creek Bridge, on the Big Sur coast of California, is one of the most photographed bridges in California due to its aesthetic design, "graceful architecture and magnificent setting". It is a reinforced concrete open-spandrel arch bridge. The bridge is 120 miles (190 km) south of San Francisco and 13 miles (21 km) south of Carmel in Monterey County on State Route 1. The bridge was completed on October 15, 1932, although the highway was not finished for another five years

The small town of Carmel-by-the Sea was founded in 1902 in Monterey County, California and is located on the Pacific Coast, on the Monterey Peninsula. Carmel is known for its artistic history and its natural scenery. An age ago more than half of the Carmel’s houses was built by citizens with a connection to aesthetic arts. Several of the early City Councils were poets or actors. Clint Eastwood, actor and director, served for example as mayor from 1986 -1988.

The name Pebble Beach was originally given to a rocky cove and beach. A scenic road, called the 17-Mile Drive, was constructed in 1892 to attract wealthy buyers of large and scenic residential plots, The road meandered along the beautiful beaches and among the forested areas between Monterey and Carmel. Nowadays Pebble Beach is notable as a resort destination, and the home of several golf courses. Nonresidents are charged a toll to use the 17-Mile Drive, the main road through Pebble Beach.
